God’s work. Our hands.
So much in Christianity is about caring for others. Loving God impels you to do what you can to right wrongs, to ease the way for others who are struggling. Our Nativity community helps us know how we - as a group and as individuals - can make a difference.
Nativity was a founding congregation of Area Interfaith Outreach (AIO) food pantry and emergency assistance. Our members have served as president of the board, founded the Weekend Meals Program, and volunteer in numerous ways. We participate in regional and worldwide service opportunities in addition to those in our local communities. We have hosted a food packaging event through "The Outreach Program: Ending Hunger, Enriching Lives" and regularly participate in Lutheran World Relief Kit ministries completing blankets and personal care kits to be shipped all over the world. Members cook for and serve at the Loaves & Fishes soup kitchen. Two of us were founding members of the Community Investors program that helps with unmet needs that other services can’t handle. Each year we house the Knox County Toy for Tots. The list of outreach efforts is long. You will find many opportunities to serve. |
