In a state that produces and sells a great deal of good food, we might not expect the significant level of food insecurity experienced here in Maine. To raise awareness and help address this challenge in ways that are beneficial to both area residents and the environment we live in, Nativity’s Creation Care Team offered a four-part educational series in the fall of 2025 which explored what happens to food we don’t eat and how we can waste less food in our state, towns and homes. Coinciding with Maine’s Food Waste Awareness Week and the United Nation’s International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste, the series began on September 30, 2025. All events in this series were free and open to all. You can watch each event by clicking on the link at the beginning of each description. We are so appreciative of all out presenters and the Camden Public Library for providing space for the first event.
