Farmers Bill Pluecker and Chloe Maxmin will show us how the quality and quantity of water affects their hard-corganic farm. Parking is limited at the farm so please carpool. Bring a chair. Saturday, September 7, 10:30am Rockport Opera House: The Water Connection: Risks and Impacts of Metal Mining in Maine. Jan Morrill of Earthworks, joined by Ralph Chapman, will lead a conversation about the impact of mining on water.
Wednesday September 25, 11:00 am, Nativity Lutheran Church, 179 Old County Rd, Rockport: Maine Water Company. The program will feature staff members from the Maine Water Company: Mark Vannoy – President; Mike Cummons – Vice President; Mike Ames – Director of Service Delivery; and Mary Jane Dillingham – Water Quality Manager. If their schedules permit, Dan Libby – Chief Plant Operator and Tom Parra – Superintendent may join the others. This program will provide time to learn from the executive staff of the Maine Water Company about how our water is collected, controlled and dispersed to ensure its quality. There will also be time for your questions. The program is free and open to the community.
